SCOTT & FAMILY

Trying to sum up this family of mine in a few, concise words has to be the most ridiculous stunt ever. They're amazing. Truly, I'm undeserving of this bunch. I thank God every day for them. Cheryl is the one whom my soul loves, my constant. Eden, full of life, creativity, and so strong. Huntley, my surfing buddy and so full of kindness to others. Holden, you're a walking miracle and you've taught us much about how to live life unbridled. We're a family of readers, musicians, artists, grounded with our heads in the clouds, we love our day trips up and down the coast (San Louis Obispo, Montecito, Santa Barbara, Malibu) as much as our daddy-daughter trips to NYC, we prefer our faithful local coffee shops, you'll find us exploring the hills around Ventura and Ojai with our Aussiedoodle named Quinn, and of course spending as much time in this gift we call the Pacific Ocean.

Weddings were an accident. After photographing snowboarding, skiing, and skating the last place I wanted to be seen with a camera was a wedding. Simply put: wedding photography wasn't cool when I started. So what happened Scott? Fortunately, we had some friends who needed a photographer and were convinced I was the guy. That first wedding changed everything. My style didn't change, my approach was still storytelling and editorial in feel but something happened. I fell in love with love. That was it!

FAQ

what sets you apart?

There are so many superb photographers and filmmakers in our world today and it's hard to be "different." One of my strengths that sets me apart is simply my experience. Not simply the 15+ years of photographing weddings, but having worked with so many clients and families, I've seen just about everything!

how do you work on the day of?

It's your wedding/portrait session, not mine. My goal is to serve you. I provide direction and guidance on what to do in front of the camera so you are seen at your very best. My process starts before the wedding day in preparing a timeline so that we can be as streamlined as possible. You want to remember your wedding day spent with friends and family, not in front of a camera all day.

How do we book you?

Email, text, or call. We'll set up a brief time to meet in-person (if you're in the Ventura, Santa Barbara, LA, Malibu area) or via Facetime/Skype if you're elsewhere. If we're a match and you see yourselves in my photographs, I'll send you a contract and I'll load some film for the wedding day!

“I just wanted to send a quick note to thank you for being such a pleasure to work with on our big day! Your calming presence (and excellent steaming skills:)) made the day less stressful and all the more fun. After seeing your amazing engagement pictures, we knew we could relax, focus on friends and family, and trust that your work would be incredible. Please let us know when you're in NYC again - we need to have that Pio Pio date with Trace and Matt!”
